The violin shown above is a lovely example of the fine quality of French copies of Stradivarius models. This one is a copy of a 1714 Strad executed by Amédée Couesnon in 1891. This violin is in very good condition despite heavy use and some damage. At some point in its life the violin suffered a full-length table break, running to the outside of the bass bar. This break has been securely repaired and reinforced. The left bout has some evidence of wood worm that has also been repaired. In spite of these flaws, the violin presents beautifully, with a gorgeously carved scroll and an exceptionally flamed back, a remarkable example of the aesthetic of the golden era of French violin making. This violin's representation of the aesthetic continues in its remarkable voice. A very special French violin for and special price of $4500.

The violin shown above is an ancient (estimated mid 1700's) full size violin of very fine construction and condition. The violin has an obviously counterfeit internal sticker attributing the construction to Carlo Bergonzi. Attribution is difficult, possibly a more prosaic copy of a Strad or Bergonzi. Nevertheless, the violin has a grafted scroll and a beautifully patinated finish on both the front and the one piece back. The violin has had multiple finely executed repairs over the years and is in exceptional playing condition. The violin is of soloist quality, with the power and mellifluous voice that distinguishes these rare violins. A special violin offered for $9,750

The violin above is a very old (late 1700's) three quarter violin of very fine construction. The violin has a grafted scroll and beautiful wood both front and back. Its origin is not attributed, nevertheless, it is a Strad model. It does contain a repair tag dated 1945, attributed to Robert E. Weber of Milwaukee Wisconsin, a well known and regarded violin maker and restoration expert. While the finish shows the wear of over a century of use, the patina is exceptional. The violin has a very powerful and mature voice for it's size and is suitable for a very talented student or a smaller statured violinist. An amazing value at $1075
